Final push for FUF in Miraloma Park
Did some flyers and passed them out and put them in slots around the hood in a final push for takers in the planting we are doing on April 17th.
We will come by Wednesday and remove all the flyers we taped on some poles around Teresita.
FUF Planting Forms Needed By March 15!
Just sent out an email to the interest parties in getting trees to get some forms back for the planting by the 15th of March.

Miraloma Park Friends of the Urban Forest Planting Date: April 17th
Woo-hoo! We have a date with Friends of the Urban Forest to work towards now. This will mean we will have to have everyone's forms in by March 15th, but we should be able to do that!
Congrads to everyone out there in the 'hood for stepping up. I will probably want to sit in front of Tower Market to see if I can get anyone else prior to moving ahead. I am very excited and ready to plant for the neighborhood.
Simple Summary Of Getting A Tree with FUF
Doesn't get easier than this to get a Friends of the Urban Forest tree in San Francisco. I will be using this as I continue my quest for a planting event in Miraloma Park, SF.
GETTING A TREE WITH FRIENDS OF THE URBAN FOREST
WHAT YOU DO:
- Point to a spot on the sidewalk
- Signing the document called "Forms of the Urban Forest" and a check for 75 bucks.
WHAT FUF DOES:
- Acquire the permits from the city
- Perform utilities checks under your sidewalk
- Provide you with a list of arborist approved trees in your microclimate
- and a chance to meet and talk with our arborist
- Mark where the trees will go
- Cut the concrete in front of the house
- Show up with a team of volunteers and plant your tree
- Supply all the stakes, arbor ties, and watering buckets for your tree
- Provide 18 months of arborist-led tree care after the planting.
Miraloma Park / FUF Updates
Walking home the other day, I saw a bunch of freshly planted FUF trees on Joost near Foerester. Pics attached. It really makes a difference on the street. I know there are many streets in Miraloma Park that could get this sort of treatment and people would be happy.
I added a Google map overlay with the current interested addresses so people can see progress and status. I will be getting information from FUF on Miraloma Park residents that gave inquired to FUF they have on file, so I can follow-up with them and get some more people on-board
