NBOA Magazine on COWs vs. 1:1 vs. BYOD in Sep/Oct 2012

I really enjoyed the article from the National Business Officiers Association from the Sep/Oct 2012 edition on “The Great Device Debate” for schools. The print publication is sent to member schools and talks though the different methods and examples from schools on why they do what they do. It reaffirms a lot of why Lick-Wilmerding uses some COWs (Computers on Wheels) and BYOD while not doing the 1:1.

The article really speaks to how the different models and devices may work for different types of schools with iPads doing more in the lower and middle and why (in my opinion) laptops in 1:1 programs or BYOD making the most sense for upper school.
