I’m really happy with the performance of VirtualBox and the Linux KVM as the hypervisor thanks to the Cyberus vbox-kvm project.

But recently, with the latest version on Virtualbox 7.1.2.x, the initial release of the vbox-kvm was no longer able to compile. So, when I went to compile vbox-kvm from source again, it didn’t work. Thankfully, recently, cyberus updated their patches and I was able to try to compile again –

But, with the latest versions of everything and not really having a full-on qt dev environment, I found I needed a lot of new dependencies across the board. After many passes at additional packages, I got a successful compile.
Sharing my /var/log/apt/history.log in the hopes of helping others. YMMV but I was making some wildcard and other attempts to cover everything – so you probably do not need all that I installed.
